Vogue Knitting Live was awesome. There's no question about it. I spent the entire time with Helena of Oink Pigments in her booth. We were so busy from start to finish that I don't think I snapped a single photo. Helena had an incredibly successful show, and I am so proud of her! Maybe one day Tina's Toasty Toes will be just as successful. A girl can dream, right? :)
Speaking of Vogue, I did hand out some business cards and being with all of those dyers and designers has really stoked my creativity. I have ideas for a new shawl pattern in the works and I have a couple of new colorway ideas as well. Look for those new colorways and patterns to make their way onto the site very soon. If you'd like to be updated when they become available, be sure to join our email list here. I also connected with the woman who runs the Kings County Fiber Festival, and got more information on the Long Island Fleece and Fiber Festival. Looks like Tina's Toasty Toes may soon be coming to a fiber festival near you!

We'll be at Vogue Knitting Live in Manhattan, New York again this year, helping our wonderful friends over at Oink Pigments in their booth. While our time there will be focused solely on promoting Oink's products and assisting them with their sales, Tina will be shopping around during breaks and will be wearing handmade items in our Tina's Toasty Toes colorways. If you see her out shopping, stop her and ask for a Tina's Toasty Toes pin!
Vogue Knitting Live takes place at the Marriott Grand Marquis in Times Square, January 25-27. Check out their event on Facebook. While you're there, give our Facebook page a like too! Our grand opening is in full swing! All of our current yarns are listed in the shop, with more to come. All first time buyers get 15% off their first purchase if they use coupon code GRANDOPENING at checkout.
How exciting is it to start something new? For me it's really exciting. I've been crocheting for years, struggling to sell my finished objects, and I really wasn't happy with it. It was always great to make a sale, but it got tiresome hearing people say they could get the same item at a big box retailer for less money. People didn't understand that they were not getting the same item at a big box retailer. They were getting something mass produced with inferior quality materials at a big box retailer. Everything I make is done using hand-dyed luxury yarns. Every piece I sell is unique. I put my heart and soul into the items I make. Sometimes the message got across, and people would leave with a new appreciation of handmade items. That's always what made me happy.
I love yarn, and I love crafting with yarn, I love people who love yarn and crafting with yarn, so it was just a natural progression that I move into dyeing yarn. And that's just what I've done. I've been practicing for months. I even flew to London to train with Lola Johnson of Third Vault Yarns. I've done my research and practiced my new craft. And now I am ready to introduce it all to you. I hope you'll join me in this new venture and let me know what you think of my products. And if you've read this far, you deserve a coupon code to use in the shop. Take 15% off of any order with coupon code GRANDOPENING. Hurry! This coupon code expires on December 31, 2018.
