Toasty Yak Silk Merino Fingering is a delicious blend of 65% superwash merino, 20% silk, and 15% yak. The yak gives the yarn its natural coloring and provides this yarn with a warm base. Overdyeing this yarn gives wonderful rich and warm colors. It is presented in 120-gram skeins, meaning that each skein has 523 yards of soft, luxury yarn! This is a single-ply yarn that is great for shawls, scarves, and hats. Colorways dyed up on this yarn are much warmer and subtler than they are on non-yak yarn bases. The yak in this base means the yarn starts out gray instead of cream-colored, and as a result, lighter colors in particular present differently on this base than they do on non-yak bases.
Need a different yarn base? Check our dyed-to-order listings for the yarn base you need.
The photos shown on this listing are samples of the colorway only. They are not the actual skeins you will receive. The photos are intended to give you an idea of the colorway. The dye will vary subtly in color, placement, and intensity depending on the yarn base and the dye lot.
The price shown above is for a single skein of yarn. To order this dyed-to-order product, select your colorway from the drop-down menu below, select the quantity that you want to purchase, and add the item to your cart. What you need to know:
A note due to the pandemic: COVID-19 has caused supply chain disruptions across both the bare yarn and dye markets. There is a small chance that the yarn base or colorway you want may not be available at the time of your order due to pandemic disruptions. Although infrequent, these disruptions may result in refunding your order if the necessary yarn bases or dyes are not available at the time of your order. Tina's Toasty Toes is taking every step to only offer yarn bases and colorways that are available, but availability can change day-by-day. You will be promptly informed and refunded if your order cannot be produced due to a supply change disruption.
This is indie-dyed yarn. All yarn is dyed in small batches using professional dyes on high-quality bases. Our yarns are perfect for knitting, crochet, and weaving. Although we always strive for consistency, each individual skein and dye lot is unique and there will be variations even among the same dye lot. We recommend buying enough yarn at one time to complete your project, and switching between skeins as you work to give your project the most consistent look.
